Terra Sancta translates to “a special place,” and with four vineyards and a winery based on Felton Road in Bannockburn, Central Otago, it truly lives up to the name. Home to the first vines ever planted in Bannockburn, Terra Sancta stands at the heart of one of the world’s great terroirs, on par with Burgundy. The winery embraces innovation, questioning convention and traditional methodologies while continually seeking improvement. Driven by curiosity, the team explores the land, its history, and its potential with the goal of creating beautiful products and memorable experiences. Each label embodies this ethos, telling its own unique story.
What sets Terra Sancta apart is its 100% Bannockburn-based vines. The estate is farmed organically and regeneratively, with a strong focus on the health of the soil, the people, the place, and the product. Every wine is grown, made, and bottled on-site by Terra Sancta’s team, using wild fermentation and no additives to ensure maximum expression. Many of our vintages come from the same block and, like our distinctive labels, are crafted to tell a story of provenance.
Terra Sancta’s wines have earned multiple awards and accolades, including the only Rosé in New Zealand to be recognised as a Super Classic by Michael Cooper - featured in his Buyer’s Guide with up to five stars for ten consecutive years. The Italian received 95 points from James Suckling, and Terra Sancta is consistently ranked among the top Central Otago wineries in The Real Review’s Top Wineries of New Zealand.
The tasting will be hosted by one of Terra Sancta’s Founders, Mark Weldon. Spaces are limited, offering a rare opportunity to experience the vineyard that helped put Central Otago on the global wine map.
Complimentary for members; $20 for guests, with proceeds supporting the MC Community Fund.
