Mountain Club Presents: Aotearoa Stone Skimming Championships 2026
VIP is sold out, but we’ve secured access to 10 final VIP tickets.
Set on the shores of Lake Hāwea Station, this is not your average day out. The VIP experience includes a premium grandstand viewing area, ice-cold pours from B-Effect Brews, a Stoked hot tub experience, and the Gather & Gold tent curated by Wilson Dorset. Elevated, well considered, and distinctly different.
Join us on Saturday 16 May 2026 for a first of its kind event in Aotearoa. What started as a simple idea has grown into a nationwide celebration of community, creativity, and a classic Kiwi pastime, set against one of the country’s most striking landscapes.
The championships aim to raise $50,000 for Melanoma NZ, supporting prevention and treatment efforts in a country with one of the highest melanoma rates in the world. Proceeds from tickets, partnerships, and on-the-day activity go directly to this cause.
Winners will earn the opportunity to represent Aotearoa at the World Stone Skimming Championships on Easdale Island, Scotland. One of the most unique prizes in sport.
