Mick Druett knows wine. Thirty-plus years in the industry, trained under a Master Sommelier, and based in Central Otago where he's on first-name terms with the producers of some of the planets finest wines and occasionally even gets to lend a helping hand.
He's bringing five bottles to MC Beach St to enjoy - Destiny Bay Magna Praemia from 2012 and 2013 (retail north of $1,900 a bottle), plus a trio of Valli Gibbston Pinot Noirs spanning 2015 to 2017. Every bottle sourced directly from the producer - no middlemen, no auction house markups.
This isn't a stuffy tasting. Mick will pour, talk you through what you're drinking if you want the detail, or keep it casual if that's more your speed. And if something hits the spot, he's offering 20% off any orders on the night, plus free shipping anywhere in the country.
